Fernando's Baptism! It Was Awesome!

wow!  time is flying like always!! tomorrow i will comemorate 11 months! i can’t believe it! it is the weirdest feeling! yet at the same time it is very scary! its passing by too fast! i feel like i just got on my mission! i have realized missions are really weird! before my mission i thought that missionaries had an eternity to learn doctrine, language, and to grow up! but seeing how i am almost half way done, i feel like i just got here! my mission is very important to me and i hope that i am getting everything out of it that i can! i feel like i don’t know nearly enough of anything yet! ha-ha, but o well!  this time is so short, it may not seem like it to you, but it does to me!
This weekend was awesome! we had one of the best baptismal exerperience that i have yet had! we had fernandos baptism! this kid is amazing! he is 16 years old, but he is solid! he knows what he is doing and why! he has the strongest testimony that i have ever seen from an investigator. his testimony is really special! it is based off of the Joseph Smith’s testimony in the book of Mormon! you should read it, it is powerful! as members we don’t usually read the testimonies in the front of the book of Mormon, but they are awesome. so sunday finally came and fernando showed up at church! but instead of regular clothes, he was decked out in a white shirt, tie, and new dress shoes that his mom had bought him! he sat with us in sacrament and bishop lima said as he was conducting that he already looked like an elder!

elder king interviewed him and he passed. elder king was as well in awe because of his testimony. fernando chose elder conceiçao to baptize him because he wanted to help elder conceiçao get more experience! and the baptism went well. everything went well the first time. ha-ha! and it was a really spiritual moment. after in the bathroom, fernando was telling us that he wanted to be baptized again! baptism is such a powerful step, it’s the door that opens the path that leads to eternal life! so sunday was awesome!

( A picture of us, Fernando, his mother, his sister, and a couple of boys from the ward.)
we were also supposed to baptize regina, but she postponed another week. she said that it is because she wants her daughter to be there. her daughter had to work yesterday but she will be off this sunday. so she should be baptized this sunday! pray for her so that she won’t postpone the baptism any more!
this week was really good! we found a lot of good people and good families! the hard part is getting them to church, but we are working on them!
i love my mission! it is such an awesome time! and it is passing by really fast! i am kind of sad about that, but i am glad to be getting time behind me! this place is full of miracles! it is amazing! i know for sure that this is the true church! it is a church of miracles! God loves us! we need to share this truth! He didn’t just give us the truth to be nice to us, He gave us the truth because he knew we would spread it and he is trusting in us to share it with everyone!
I love you all so much! i hope this week is awesome for you all! keep going and be strong!

p.s. the pictures of the snowmobiles are killing me! i want to snowmobile! i want to see the snow!! the weather doesn’t change here!!
