Wow!! well the Lord has been teaching me a lot lately! elder gibson and i had the best week of our lives!! we had a baptism!! it was an amazing baptism for sure! probably one of the most memorable ones that i will ever have!! so it was the baptism of olga!! and i don´t know how much i have told you about olga, so i will try to make it sure! when elder gibson and i arrived here in crato we had one of our first lunches at her house because her sister was baptized about 6 weeks ago. but as we soon found out she didn´t want anything to do with the church. so we thought alright, we won´t waste too much time with her. but we invited her to church and stuff. well she never went to church. about a month later she ended up coming to church just to give something to somebody! so we tried to convince her to stay and watch sunday school... but she refused. so we gave her a book of mormon to read. and she said that maybe she would read it. about five days later we were just out working in our area and none of our appointments were working out!! nobody wanted to hear our message, so elder gibson said "lets go see if olga read" i was almost one hundred percent sure that she didn´t read. but we went there anyways. when we got to her house, everything was normal. we taught her the first lesson and that’s about it. so we left. the next sunday she came to church. she said that she had received an answer and that she knew the church was true. she said that the day we went to her house she had been reading the book our mormon. she said that she shut the book of mormon and said a quick prayer. all she said in the prayer was " Heavenly Father if the church is true give me a sign." and right when she opened her eyes from the prayer we knocked on the door calling her name!!
i couldn´t believe what i was hearing when she told us this. so we started to teach her. she went to all the activities and everything. but unfortunately she didn’t want to be baptized!! she just said that she didn´t have the desire. we talked to her and talked to her, but still she didn´t want to be baptized. so we just kind of let her be for a couple of weeks. but those weeks for us were kind of hard, because we hadn´t been seeing too much success. a bunch of our investigators were giving up. so elder gibson and i were getting pretty down. but then last tuesday we had lunch again at olga’s house. we decided we would invite her to be baptized again. we invited her, but still she refused!! after we left her house we felt really down. we didn’t know what we could do. so we decided to fast. we started to fast, and the next day came and we broke our fast. and about a few hours after we had broken our fast we ran into a member on the road, and she said to us" hey! do you elders know olga" and we said " yes!" and she said " well she has decided to be baptized!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” i cannot tell you happy we became on hearing those words. but we had to make sure it was true. so we took off running to olga’s house. when we got there she confirmed that yes, she would be getting baptized.

so on saturday after the english class we had her baptism! it was one of the most spiritual meetings that i have every been in. everybody was really reverent and it was just awesome. so many people were there because everybody was so excited that she was getting baptized. elder gibson baptized her and i had the opportunity to be the witness. and i testify that baptism is a life changing experience. and that really through baptism we can wipe away all of our sins. and we can be totally clean of all of our sins. it was an amazing experience!!
i know that this church is true with out a doubt in my mind!! there is no way that i could have felt so happy and felt the spirit so strong at that baptism if the church was false. the spirit bore witness to me very plainly and very clearly that the church is true and that we can have eternal life. by keeping the commandments and repenting of our sins we can receive this blessing of eternal life!!
the Lord, He does teach! but we must let him teach us. and we must work on his time, because he knows what’s best for his children. and if we are doing our part everything will work out!!
i love you all so much! thank you so much for everything!! i feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family!! i love you and i hope that you all have a wonderful week! remember to keep strong and keep smiling!!!
Love you son and brother!!
