TRANSFERS AND BAPTISMS!!

Wow!!! i have so much to say and so little time, so this will be kind of

brief!! this last week has been full of action, and i don’t even

know were to start! but i will start by telling what happened this

weekend!

on Friday, michelly was married to her husband and edimilson was

married to his wife! it was really cool to see them taking theses

steps to follow and keep the commandments! marriage here is also a very

different process! it is very quick and doesn’t have too much meaning or

planning. ha-ha! like marriages have in the states. but it is all part of

the experience! so it was really cool!

then on saturday the best part of all happened….. they were both baptized.

at 6 o clock in the afternoon, michelly was baptized. it was a really

neat baptism! she has been fighting for so long so that she could be

baptized.!! it wasn’t easy. she pretty much stopped doing everything

that she was doing so that she could follow Christ! she stopped

smoking, drinking coffee, and drinking! she is an amazing woman! and

saturday night to see her ready to be baptized was very special. it truly

was a victory! she gave me the privilege to baptize her and as we

were walking down into the water she began to cry. everybody

present could feel the spirit radiating off of her. you could see

her true desire and will to follow the Lord. she sacrificed pretty

much everything!

Then at about 8 o clock edimilson was baptized. and his baptism was

similar to michelly´s. he has been waiting for a very long time to be

baptized. but because of some divorce problems with a earlier wife,

things were a bit complicated. but we worked hard with him and getting

everything cleared so he could get remarried and baptized! and it all

happened! edimilson is so awesome! i didn´t realize the relationship

that we had until that night of his baptism. he made me promise him

that at the end of my mission, i will come and visit him so that i can see

the progress that he has made in the church. after his baptism all he

talked about was his new goal. and that is to take his wife to the

temple in one year! and he is counting!

and now for the big news! saturday night we got the transfer call! and

well, i got some news! Yes, i did get transfered, and so did elder

conceicao! elder conceicao went to the montese stake with elder

copette and i am now sitting here in sumaré! one of elder kunzler’s

areas with elder rosário! and............. i have been called to be

zone leader!!!! i truly wasn’t expecting it, and i don’t really even

know what to expect. but i am very excited to serve and to learn more

responsibility and leadership! so pray for me that i can adjust and

serve my zone!! and the Lord!

on Sunday michelly and edimilson were confirmed! Michelly had elder

conceicao confirm her. It was really neat for him. And during the day

we had to say goodbye to everyone! It was super hard! I did not like

it at all! These people that were baptized here in jose walter 2 are

people of faith that in many ways have changed my life! i really

didn’t want to go. but i have decided that i will work where ever the

Lord calls! i don’t feel ready, but i know that the Lord will be with

me, if i trust in him!

well that’s all the time that i have! i hope that everything is going

good with you all. here in fortaleza it is just raining!! and it rains nonstop! it kind of stinks, but i can kind of pretend that it is snow! ha-ha!! i love you so much! i pray for you! thank you for everything!

Fernando! One of the best baptisms that I have had. He is 16 years old and he is solid! He knows what he is doing and why. He already looks like an Elder!

This is the family of Ana, the Mother and Julyana and Victorya, her daughters, and Victor, the awesome little boy. Ana had been baptized 15 years ago and has been inactive about that long. We baptized Julyana and Victorya. Now they are all going to church firmly!

This is Maria, the Mother, and Eliaquim, the 17 year old son, and Sonia the daughter. Maria has 9 children. They live on a semi-farm and sell fruits and veggies. We found and baptized Eliaquim first and Maria and Sonia came to his baptism. Then we started to teach her. Most of Maria's children are strong believers of evangelical churches. Maria told us that she had been searching for the truth but wasn't finding it . She didn't agree with any of the churches that her children attended. She said that when we showed up and started teaching the truth to her, she felt that it was true! I will never forget her. she has a lot of faith! This experience with Maria and Eliaquim and Sonia has been precious to me!
