president Souza is trying to get to know the areas of the mission. so
he had us get with our zones and do an evaluation of each area. we
also drew a map of all the areas in the zone. it was successful. all
the elders helped and we got it done. we will now present it to him on
thursday. thursday we have a leadership meeting. it will be great.
this week we met two wonderful families. both of them we met last
wednesday. the first one we taught in the morning. we received a
reference from a lady in our ward. when we were at her house she told
us that her son was inactive and that his wife wasn’t a member of the
church. it had been about a year since her son went to church. so
wednesday morning we went there and taught the wife. the ladies
son was not home. the wife’s name is luciana. she is awesome. she was
excited to receive our message. she said that she had already gone to
church a few times and knew that it was all true. she accepted baptism
for the 18th. but she said that she would only be baptized if her
husband went back to church. she said that she knew too many women that
were going to church alone and she didn’t want that. so we marked to
go back and teach her husband who is gildervan. and he was completely
willing to go back to church and promised that he would go. but he
asked us to always go by his house to give him strength to return and
guess what!!!..... yesterday they went. when gildervan walked back
into the church everybody was so happy. and i know he felt like he was
back at home. it was awesome. luciana also loved the environment. we
are very excited to work with them.
the other family we found as we were doing a few road contacts on the
road. but before meeting this family we had already heard about them
and knew that they were passing through some rough times. their names
are anastacio and analha. anastacio is really sick. he has some sort
of cancer. they are going to start to do the treatment this week.
when we got there analha told us that anastacio doesn’t like to talk
about church and that he doesn’t like to go to church. but we told her
that our message talks about life and about our difficulties. it got us
in their house. so we started to teach them the plan of salvation.
automatically anastacio opened up and he started asking questions. i
could tell that he was getting interested. he started saying that he
wanted to follow God, but didn’t know where because of all the
churches on the earth. so we marked to go back and teach the
restoration. when we went back they listened well and understood. and
accepted to go to church and they went. it was so awesome. they are kind of an older couple. seeing them at church was amazing. you
could just tell they were soaking it all up. the bishop gave anastacio
a principles of the gospel book and he loved it. we are hoping to have
their baptisms on the 25th. so pray for them!!
yesterday in our ward we had a special visitor. it was elder soares
who is of the seventy. he is the president of the north area of
brasil. he talked and it was a spiritual meeting.
so the Lord is blessing us a lot in our area. everyday we can see miracles.
i know that Jesus Christ lives. He is the medicine of the fall. if we
follow Him we will be cured in everyway! I LOVE THE BOOK OF MORMON!!
its teachings are so simple! we have a living prophet! i know of it
for sure!
i love you all so much! i hope that you are all well and happy!! thank
you for everything!
