well .........this week has been extremely different, let's just say! it was really good, but mentally exhausting! this week we have had quite a few problems with people from other churches talking and confusing our recent converts. i hate this when it happens!!!! this last week neide and cristovao were attacked several times. so monday, tuesday, and wednesday we visited all of these people that have been talking bad about the church and had a nice bible conversation. with every single one of them we were able to answer all of their questions and show them that what they were saying to neide and cristovao about the church wasn't true. but it was a mental workout. we also had to reteach a lot of things to neide and cristovao. but i think that we are resolving these problems.
this week we didn't[t have any baptisms. we are now working on a new teaching group. we worked all week trying to find new people willing to accept the gospel and we had some success. we took a lady named crislane to church and a young boy named victor. they really liked it and should be baptized this week. crislane´s brother is a member already so that should help out quite a bit. so pray for them!
at church elder cunha spoke in sacrament meeting. it was really good. he talked about how the gospel can turn a bad man good, and good man better. he based it off of elder bednar´s talk that you guys sent to me. it was really good. he used the example of alma (father) and how through the words of abinadi (the gospel, with the atonement) he became a better man. or he put off the natural man and became a saint.
after sacrament meeting the lady that gives the gospel principles class came up to me with a sick face and told that she would be going home and that i would be giving the class. at first i got a bit nervous and wanted to tell her no, but then i began to trust. i knew i didn´t have anything prepared, but i knew that God would help me. then when i found out what the class was about, i calmed down. the class was about baptism. the topic that we talk about every day. i really enjoyed teaching the class. it was a confidence booster for me.
well ,this week will be full of meetings. this is president batt´s last transfer. so this week we have zone conference and leadership conference. it is going to be really fun, but really sad at the same time. president batt is the best! i have learned so much through him.
i don´t have much else to write, but i k now that this is God´s work. i know that this is his church. i was able to talk with a lot of people this week with strong beliefs of other religions and now i can truly testify that this is the true gospel. that through living prophets we can know the will of the Lord. we are so blessed to know these things. to know that families are forever! to know that this is the true baptism that puts us on the path that takes us to the celestial kingdom. i love you all. i love the book of mormon i love being a missionary!!!!
keep going strong. know that i love you!
your son, elder T. Larsen
