wow what a crazy week! it was a lot of fun! we have been super busy all week!
so tuesday, i met my new companion! his name is elder p. melo! i hope that you got the picture so that you can see him. he is an awesome kid. he is from sao paulo! he is really nice and really willing to work. he is an excellent missionary. it will be a pleasure to serve with him. sadly he has some pretty big blisters on his feet, but he is tough and will work through it. ha-ha! tuesday night we arrived in our new area. we didn’t have time to go out and work, so we just got settled in. wednesday we had district meeting. (monday while i was in the office waiting for my companion to arrive, the assistants came and told me i would also be district leader!) so wednesday i gave my first training. it was cool. i am excited to learn at this position! my district is really small. it is our companionship and two others.
wednesday afternoon we started to get used to our area and it was strange. we started contacting all the investigators that the other elders were teaching and we felt pretty lost. but at night we went to the church and met some members. so that was cool. thursday night a brother in the cidade oeste ward took us around in his car and showed us the boundaries of our area. After that things got 100% better. we are no longer lost!
so far we have some really good investigators. this week we should have some baptisms. pray for francineide, antonia, david, and andré. also there were two young men that went to conference with us. Their names are joao and tiago. they will be baptized in a couple of weeks. we will be working with them.
this week we focused on getting references from members. we received some really good ones and will be working with them this week.
Conference!!!!!!!!!!! it was amazing! it passed by so fast. that was the fastest conference in my life. i can’t believe i just watched 10 hours and it is already over. but now i will start looking forward to the next one. there was so many good talks. it was perfect!! i know that those men and women are called of God!
i love this work. it is amazing. as we work, God blesses us in many ways. a lot of times we don’t expect it the way it comes, but he does his part. i know that Thomas S Monson is a true prophet. i know that the book of mormon is true. i was able to finish it again yesterday and i bare testimony that it is the word of God. through it we can come closer to God and i know that it is true. i know that it’s translator was a prophet, Joseph Smith. he is the prophet of the restoration. and i know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. he is what makes everything work. his sacrifice is what will get us back to our Heavenly Father! I am grateful for Him! and i know that our family can be forever!
